This entrepreneurial club is for children ages 10 and older. While not required, children will benefit from having access to a computer, laptop or digital device with internet capabilities. We will utilize Canva, Printify, Shopify, Zoom and Google Sheets to run this small business.. ideally, there will be a minimum of 6 students and no more than 15.
The group meets in Rosenberg once a month and will utilize Zoom meetings as needed, The annual cost for this club is $10 per child. This covers the cost of the online store and other supplies. Children will work on a budget in the Fall.
Using Canva, kids will learn about graphic design, copyrights and trademarks and identifying customer's needs and trends. They will create graphics that can be printed onto wearables and accessories - t-shirts, hats, tote bags, backpacks, coffee mugs etc. These items will be manufactured and shipped on demand via the Printify platform. The Collective will not maintain a physical inventory as it is handled entirely through Printify.
Shopify is the online store. The items will be marketed via social media and the link shared on the School of LIFE website.
The profits will be kept in the School of LIFE bank account and earmarked specifically for the Collective. Children will learn about basic accounting and record-keeping using Google Sheets.
In May, the children will use the profits to finance an end-of-year celebration for the Collective.
Parental involvement is minimal, but helpful. Many children will need reminding of upcoming deadlines and commitments to the Collective. They will need transportation to monthly meetings. We would like to invite anyone with retail, graphic design, social media marketing, accounting or tax experience. to speak with the Collective to offer guidance , encouragement and expertise.
